Becs Epstein is a queer Chicago-based transdisciplinary artist working in sculpture, performance, video, painting, and installation. Her art uses satire and earnestness to dig into people’s relationships with plants. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University BFA with a focus in Contextual Practice and Sculptural Installation and is an MFA performance candidate at School of Art Institute of Chicago. She has exhibited internationally and across the United States. Exhibitions include Links Hall, Carnegie Library, Glitterbox Theater, August Wilson Center, Assemble, Frame Gallery, Wills Creek Exhibition, Folly Tree Arboretum, BabyLands, Miller Gallery, Legend Galleries, Spinning Plate Galleries, Elbow Room Gallery, and NZ Manifestos of Systematic Change. She has been a resident at Barim in South Korea, Stomping Ground in NY, and NARS Governors Island Satellite Residency in NYC. She has curated extensively in performance and visual art. She co-released an album with a musician and is publishing a book with a scientist.
