Flow Retreat
Flow • embody in site that will be in-person in Fara Sabina, Italy and Rome, Italy for the 800th celebratory year of Francis of Assisi. This is a week-long retreat in the heart of Fara Sabina, Italy. Participants will reside in the Convent delle Clarisse Eremite that lived in silence from the 1673 to 1967.
“A person asked a nun: What does your life of silence teach you? She answered, I see myself, I see myself reflected in the water. When the water is rough, nothing can be seen, but when the water is still, then the person finds herself. Silence is a humble but sure path to love; Too many times we prefer any distraction, in order not to stay in touch with ourselves, in order not to really listen to our soul.”
The day will begin with an optional meditative movement practice rooting us to the earth. With the mindful practice we will explore site within the vicinity to develop our practice. Prioritizing silent forms of communication and being-ness in a world busy with distractions we will turn off devices and engage in other ways of being and communicating to regain balance and a deeper understanding ourselves. Participants will create site specific actions in the village using deep listening as a tool.

Join us for our fourth Flow • embody in site in person annual workshop/retreat in Fara Sabina, Italy. This is a week-long public performance art workshop in the Italian town of Fara Sabina, based in the ancient region of Sabine is the site of Convent delle Clarisse Eremite that lived in Silence from the 1673 to 1967. This historic town is situated on the walking trail of Saint Francis of Assisi celebrating the Jubilee Year.
Participants will stay at the Convent where meals will be prepared and group convenings will take place. The day will begin with a meditation of tai chi practice led by Carron Little, Artistic Director of Out of Site, and followed by four days of public performance workshop culminating in a public performance event in Fara Sabina on Sunday July 26 and a performance art festival in Rome on Monday July 27 in partnership with Performance Art Rome.
