Isabel León, Spanish visual artist, performer, independent cultural promoter and teacher. Graduate in Fine Arts and scholarship in Athens (Greece) and La Havana (Cuba). Official Master's Degree in Art Production and Research with the Final Research "Action art. Tools and resources for its teaching". Her work transitions from video to action art, a discipline to which she has been intensely dedicated since 2007, participating in numerous festivals, action art meetings and national and international residencies, including art centers and museums in Spain as well as in Germany, Canada, Morocco, Ucrania, Lituania, Austria or Norway, among others. She has also participated in numerous international online projects working with artists from countries such as Germany, France, USA, Spain, India, South Korea, Argentina, Mexico and other Latin American countries. Since 2012, she co-coordinates the project EXCHANGE Live Art with the artist Ana Matey in which they research on communication and shared creative processes, and with which they have carried out more than thirty projects such as action art meetings, laboratories, residencies and workshops, both nationally and internationally, and with which they have worked with more than sixty artists to date. She combines her artistic practice with teaching, giving workshops in different contexts and institutions such as art centers, universities and independent spaces, with more than 25 years of experience. Isabel conceives artistic practice as an act closely linked to life, which is why her work is connected to her most intimate feelings, thoughts and emotions. She is interested in the apparently insignificant, the game and the absurd with a work that arises from the here and now and in which she leaves a special space for intuition.
